Machine Learning Test and Evaluation (MLTE)
During my time as a student at Carnegie Mellon University, and later as a data engineer at the Artificial Intelligence Integration Center, my classmates / colleagues and I initiated a project to bring some of the rigor of traditional software engineering to machine learning.
The project became known as Machine Learning Test and Evaluation, or MLTE (pronounced "melt"). We presented our first paper on the topic at the International Conference on Software Engineering 2023 in Melbourne, Australia. A video of our presentation is available on YouTube.
The project is still under active development by a team from CMU's Software Engineering Institute on GitHub.
